Hey everyone!

Sorry for the tiny hiatus. Phil was in Chicago and I was bizzy bizzy bizzy.

I will fully admit that I haven't been listening to much new music lately. I have been on a humongous Bruce Springsteen kick. And by kick I mean obsession. HOWEVER, there are a couple FANTASTIC new songs I've come across lately that I'd love to share with you. Not only are they awesome songs, but they've got some awesome music videos as well.

I don't even know where to start with this song. First of all, who on EARTH isn't a fan of Scandinavian pop? Pelle Carlberg, The Cardigans, The Raveonettes, Jens Lekman, Junior Senior, Peter Bjorn and John... the list is endless. Well, it ends if you try and include ABBA, but that is entirely besides the point. Sweden's Alphabeat is no exception to the rule. Their MySpace proclaims, "Imagine the love child of the B52’s and Wham produced by Nile Rodgers and voila you have Alphabeat!", and while I can't quite wrap my mind around that much awesome, I will say this. This album is great, but "Fascination" is by far the standout track. I love it because I can tell the band is having fun, which in turn makes me have fun. That's pretty much what music is about, if you ask me. The video is colorful, danceful, Swedishful. They're also probably the two most adorable people on the face of the Earth.

Duffy - Mercy

It doesn't take a genius to see the flood of talented, pretty chicks coming out of the United Kingdom as of late. Duh. I love them all, and while I personally see that as the only similarity between all of them, I can see where people are coming from. I can also see why people would compare Welsh soul singer to our beloved Amy Winehouse. Instead of talking about how much that annoys me, I'll tell you about how I caught this music video at about three o'clock in the morning on MTV, and through all of my delirium, fell in love. I love everything about this girl, her music, and her video. It's the sexiest video I've seen in a long time that doesn't have Justin Timberlake in it, she's sexy, the song is sexy. I love it all. She also isn't a celebrity representative of the world's crack dens, which is nice.

I sincerely hope you dig these songs as much as I do. And if not, let us know what you've discovered recently!

Love, Lindsay
